Description
Continues to build proficiency as defined by the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines. Content-based instruction develops communicative language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through readings and discussions of authentic Hispanic cultural and literary texts. For students with two or more years of Spanish or an intermediate level of Spanish language proficiency. (Offered fall semester.)
Class Description
The Spanish class 301: composition and oral practice meets MlO 1: Language proficiency and MLO2: language and Linguistics Knowledge: because Spanish is my native language. This course also contributes to my fulfillment of MLO1 because through all the practice that we received from Dr. Gabriela Zapata. In this course we did a lot of in class writing with groups of three and I learn how to developed more ideas to write down on some essays that we did in class. I also learn how to write summaries from some short videos that we watched in class. We also watched some cartoons from Spain and Argentina. We listened to some songs and read some poems and breaked down as a class to understand the meaning more deeply. For our final we prepared a class presentation with a group of three, we present about how one of the most important persons from our USA history Cesar Chavez fought to protected field workers and create unions and we had the opportunity to practice our speaking ability. In this class I had the opportunity to meet new people and work with them and create ideas with our class mates and to learn how to work with people. Lastly we also took online quizzes which overall this class help me improved my reading, writing, and speaking skills. I still need to work more on my writing skills even thought I learned a lot in this class I still need to push my self more to achieve my goal of becoming a better person so in a future I can teach this techniques to my students.
